INSIDE MAIL – GRAFTON

RACE 1: REMEMBERING FRED SCHWINGHAMMER MDN HCP 1700m

Libby was okay when third at the Armidale non-TAB meeting second-up and followed with a second to the favourite Three Graces when stepping up to 1730m at this track last start. Can go one better. Yarra Princess was just behind the placegetters at her last two runs over similar distances at this track. Won’t be far away again. Righteous Brother is on a quick back-up after his eighth here last week. Was okay his previous two runs. Blinkers come off.

Bet: Libby to win

RACE 2: REMEMBERING PAT MOY MDN HCP 1000M

Seymour Stars is a first starter by Cosmic Force from a sister to Group 1 Blue Diamond winner, Reward For Effort. The three-year-old quickly went forward to lead and cruised home to win her Grafton trial by two lengths under a hold on Oct 22. Drawn ideally. Volare was first-up from a spell and for a new stable when a solid third behind Flame Of Hestia at Taree on Oct 18. Will take improvement from the run. Sivo boxed on for third at Port Macquarie first-up and won’t be far away again.

Bet: Seymour Stars to win

RACE 3: REMEMBERING WARREN TOZER SUPER MDN PLATE 1200M

Ellro showed handy ability in her first campaign with a debut second at Moree and a third at Gunnedah last start. Wasn’t far away in her two runs in between although unplaced. In a new stable now and has trialled very well with two smart heat wins at Deagon. Cantankerous was good on debut at the Sunshine Coast when a neck third to Like Smoke before stepping up to a midweek maiden at Doomben on Oct 16 when seventh to King Potter after racing wide. Crazy Mikki and Fortheo have place claims.

Bet: Ellro to win

RACE 4: JACARANDA CUP (BM82) 1100M

Preemptory is first-up for a new stable and has been good winning both trials, the latest by over three lengths. Had solid form last campaign including a Randwick Highway in April. Single Touch was chasing most the was behind a tearaway pair when a neck second to Lady Tulessa over 1000m at Ballina. Turned the tables here last start when coming with a strong finish to beat Mosketta and Lady Tulessa in the Jacaranda Prelude. Hauraki Gulf is knocking on the door.

Bet: Preemptory to win

RACE 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY COBEY (BM58) 1175M

Ask The Question is a six-year-old who debuted with a handy win at Coffs Harbour on Sept 15. Raced wide without cover and didn’t handle the heavy track but kept trying to come from last and finish sixth to Amaya’s Secret over 1000m here on Oct 1. Should appreciate the step up in trip and the claims. Groovy Day got going late from well back when fifth on debut here in May before racing on pace and winning at Murwillumbah. Resumes here off two trials. Rocky Rogue has claims on his first win here two weeks ago.

Bet: Ask The Question each-way

RACE 6: HAPPY 50TH DAMON SULLIVAN PLATE (C1) 2200M

Wicked Games stumbled at the start and was posted wide throughout before finishing seventh to Everlasting Kiss when seventh on a heavy track at Taree last start. Dominated with a big all-the-way win at Kempsey the starts before and can bounce back. Royal Rift is backing up from his fifth to Kairos Louie here last week. Was midfield before taking off midrace to go to the front at the 1100m. Ya Love Her has claims on her win two starts back.

Bet: Wicked Games each-way

RACE 7: REMEMBERING DARRYL TAYLOR JACARANDA CROWN (BM58) 1600M

Khamis couldn’t have been more impressive in debut when a near sixth length winner from Preachabull here on Oct 1. Bumped at the start when runner to Dupont second-up. Miss Shu tracked the leader and was held up on the turn and was baulked after straightening before finishing a head second to Rhodes in a Bm62 at Ipswich last time out. Was a long neck fourth to Blagney on the Gold Coast Polytrack before that. Drops in grade and can bounce back. Maurizma has drawn well and won’t be far away.

Bet: Khamis to win

RACE 8: CRJC LIFE MEMBERS (BM58) 1400M

Intoxel was wide with cover when sixth over 1200m behind the progressive Hydroelectric at the Gold Coast before leading all-the-way to win by nearly four lengths over 1430m here two weeks ago. Hard to beat again. Desert Mist was wide without cover when sixth to Intoxel last start. Silver Canvas has been just behind the placegetters in stronger company at his last four starts.

Bet: Intoxel to win
