Footlights did his best work late when not far away first-up at Bendigo last time out. He’ll be fitter for that and a little class drop suits the four-year-old.

ST LAWRENCE (Race 9 No.3 – $2.60)

The former Kiwi galloper won on debut at Hastings in April before crossing the Tasman to join the Maher and Eustace camp. He trialled impressively at Cranbourne on September 5.

WHO SHOT SUZY (Race 10 No.10 – $8)

The Simon Zahra-trained mare boxed on well in a sound first-up run in town last time out. She doesn’t mind soft ground and should be thereabouts in the last at Geelong.

SKINNY DIP (Race 3 No.16 – $11)

Skinny Dip showed ability in his first two runs last time in but has, crucially, had more time to develop. He could produce a strong first-up performance at Geelong.
