Roses Imminente is a bargain now at $20,000 (Inglis HTBA Sale) in 2023. The Lou Mary bought and trained daughter of Impending came from 11th of 13 to win at Scone on debut then was a close and closing runner-up in a Benchmark 58 after that. Go well again. Soul Taker only improved in three runs at the first prep. In good hands. Goonoo has some deep form. Expect better this time from that first-up run at Narromine. Slow start was costly.
Bet: Roses Imminente to win
RACE 6
Oakfield Peewee is the fourth emergency for a very strong race at Newcastle on Saturday. The Damien Lane-trained gelding has raced five times for three placings and a fourth. He was inches off winning first-up and has provincial placings on the board. Former Victorian housed gelding Firestorm Boy is a Dubbo resident now. He raced handy and refused to yield when runner-up here on Sept 29 in a Super Maiden. Casdaemon has talent but a wide draw.
Bet: Oakfield Peewee to win or if scratched, Firestorm Boy to win
.@Aaronbullock90 makes it back-to-back wins at @gosford_races with Takanakuy in Race 2. pic.twitter.com/wkrdluTA2f

RACE 7
Takanakuy wins 33 per cent of the time. For the record, her tally is five wins from 15 with three minors. The Melissa Dennett-trained mare ran fourth first-up at home at Tamworth but it was such a big run in a rather strong 58. Not Written Off absolutely thrashed them at Narromine on the day where Cameron Crockett was a tad unlucky not to have trained four winners. Drawn 20 but comes in a few with scratchings. Sisters Pick has a 75 rating which has to count for something and she goes enormous second-up!
Bet: Takankuy to win, each-way 9, 11
RACE 8
Canamble is a good prospect. The Damien Lane-trained $14,000 HTBA Yearling buy has won $41,625 in just three starts which were a debut win in the Wellington Boot Prelude, a third in the Boot itself and then a 10th of 16 in the Inglis Challenge. Chased Hard To Say willingly in a Newcastle trial on Sep 25. Calmundi’s win at Orange was extremely impressive. Violet And Blue is a reliable and consistent mare who broke her maiden first-up which strongly hints that she has come back well.
Bet: Canamble to win, Calmundi to place
INSIDE MAIL - MORUYA
RACE 5
Snappy Jim has been on an upward trajectory this campaign, culminating (for now) at his third run of the preparation, namely a win at Nowra in a Benchmark 58. Just wish he had of drawn a little better. Presslily was always going to win her maiden and she did so in pretty impressive terms at Moruya first-up. Could keep it going now. Peruno has been so consistent since he got to Michael Gatty’s.
Bet: Snappy Jim to win
RACE 6
Urafika has finished unplaced in her five starts so far, all of them were when Joe Pride had her so obviously this is her easiest assignment to date and her first run for Danielle Seib. She’s very well drawn here and you’d like to see her doing something. The Main Event was beaten by the draw and maybe a little (understandable) lack of racecraft when he debuted here back on Jan 19. Drawn wide again but has the talent. Giza is a massive watch/respect.
Bet: Urafika to win, box trifecta 4, 5, 10, 13, Daily Double 1st Leg (10), 2nd Leg (4)
Fourcade takes out the last at @Sapphireturf! pic.twitter.com/IL7DdO2oiv
â SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) July 28, 2024
RACE 7
Fourcade has not run one bad race for Shaun Coady in the 11 starts since she was bought online for $600. You could even make the case to say that she ran a personal best last start when she won with quite some authority here in a Benchmark 58. Granted, this is a harder race but she plummets four kilos. Body Bob is city-class on his best day as is very well treated under the race conditions with 58kg. Tulla Park beat Body Bob by five lengths at Canberra on Sept 20.
Bet: Fourcade each-way
RACE 8
Spritely Emily’s numbers tell it better than words can. Here goes; 12 starts at Moruya for four wins (of five career wins) and three placings. Three wins and five placings from 14 starts circa the trip. Six starts at the track and distance for three wins and two placings. Just to top it all off, she is on a track and trip hat-trick. Heir Jordan is two from three at this track and distance and you’d have to be happy with that first-up run even though it reads as seventh of 12. Pretty Eyes and Mr Metrics are in the mix.
Bet: Spritely Emily to win, quinella 4, 6, exacta 4 to beat 6
