Invincible Woman has the engine to match her name and strong ownership group.
The precocious filly, trained by Lloyd Kennewell and Lucy Yeomans, is a $3.90 second favourite with Ladbrokes for the Magic Millions VIC 2YO Classic (1100m) on Saturday at Caulfield Heath.
Invincible Woman, a $250,000 yearling, was the first horse Kennewell and Yeomans bought as a training partnership with intentions to race with an all-female ownership.
The syndicate includes racing expert and broadcaster Lizzie Jelfs, Kennewell’s wife Melissa, Yeomans and loyal stable clients.

“I actually didn’t have a share (as she sold within a couple of days) and I was having a bit of a whinge to Lloyd and he whittled someone down and got me in,” Yeomans said.
“I think I’ve got one or 1.5 per cent, so I’m a very major shareholder!
“There was actually a few names in front of that (Invincible Woman), they were either taken or not allowed … but it suits her and suits the play for sure.
“She’s a bit of a spicy girl, got an opinion of herself, and there’s strong women in the ownership group, combined we’re a force to be reckoned with.
“I’m really confident she will run well, we just don’t know what else is in the race and if she’s good enough, but I think she’s precocious enough to run well.
“We’ll be having a lot of fun this Saturday regardless of the result, but hopefully she can run really well and top the day off for us.”
Invincible Woman is entered for the $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at Gold Coast on January 11 but Yeomans said the filly would dictate future plans.
“If she were to run well and have enough prizemoney and come through in good order we’d love to take her up to the Gold Coast,” Yeomans said.
The I Am Invincible filly, out of Showcase, has lived up to her moniker in preparatory work with two solid Cranbourne jumpout wins.
Invincible Woman, sister of The Showvinist, trained by Lindsay Park, and half to the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-prepared Ambassadorial.
Despite a “spritely” temperament, Yeomans is confident Invincible Woman will handle the race day experience on Saturday.
“She’s a strong independent woman and she likes things done a certain way, but normally once the rider is up over her neck she’s got her mind on the job,” Yeomans said.
“She’s very natural and sharp, she’s everything you would want in a two-year-old and when we purchased her, even at the start of the preparation, she seemed a little immature but she’s thrived in her work and really enjoys the work.”
The Kennewell-Yeomans stable has produced 11 winners this season from 49 starters.
“We don’t have all that many runners, we have 30 boxes at Cranbourne and I think we’ve got about 20 unraced two-year-olds in work,” Yeomans said.
“We’re very much planning for the future with them, as far as having horses up and running we’ve only got eight to 10, we are striking well, I think we’re at over 20 per cent.
“We’ve got a nice horse Stupendous running tomorrow night (at The Valley) and a couple nice horses in next week, we’re very much quality over quantity but the horses are going really well and enjoying ourselves, the future looks bright enough, so we’re happy.”
