Tiger Woods came out swinging on the opening day of the Presidents Cup as he and partner Justin Thomas put Team USA in a winning position early.
Woods was back to his mercurial best around the famed Royal Melbourne and led his pairing to the first win of the day.
All eyes at the course were focused on Woods and the former world number one didn’t disappoint with his shot making wowing the crowds.
A masterful chip on the fifth hole from Woods found the bottom of the cup and he showed of his captaincy powers by demanding Thomas to fetch the ball.

But as Woods’ dominance continued, the rest of Team USA crumbled as the Internationals turned up the heat and turned the tides on their opponents.
Of the five matches being played on the opening day, only Woods and Thomas emerged victorious for Team USA.
The International Team wrapped up day one holding the 4-1 advantage over their favoured counterparts.
It marks the first time since 2005 that the International Team have held the lead after the opening matches.
So, Tiger Woods is the only one going to show up for the U.S today?! Embarrassing first day so far.... #PresidentsCup

Anyone care to help a Tiger out?
