Formula 1 legend David Coulthard is heading to Australia to compete in the Race of Champions, with a month until some of the biggest names in motorsport line up on the grid at Accor Stadium.
British driver Coulthard takes it to four F1 drivers in the field for the Sydney event, which pits competitors from across the motorsport spectrum – including World Rally, Supercars, Rallycross, NASCAR, Extreme E and Dakar – against each other.
Valterri Bottas, Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel will also represent the world of F1 on March 7-8.
Coulthard, who won 13 F1 races from 1994 to 2008 and was runner-up in the World Driver’s Championship for West McLaren Mercedes in 2001, will be aiming for his third Race of Champions title when he comes to Australia.
“Race Of Champions reminds all of us who have been lucky enough to take part in the event why we first started racing,” Coulthard said..
“The competition is as tough as it gets and everyone wants to win, but once we finish racing the atmosphere is amazing between all us drivers from different series and generations.”
The 33rd edition of series, which has been held at various locations around the world, will feature seven-time Supercars champion Jamie Whincup, reigning Supercars champion Will Brown, nine-time FIA World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb; two-time Dakar winner Toby Price, and action sports legend Travis Pastrana.
