DANIEL Arzani’s loan move to Celtic is all but done and sealed with the approval of new Socceroos boss Graham Arnold.

The 19-year-old attacking revelation has completed his transfer from Melbourne City to parent club Manchester City in time for the close of the transfer window.

He was also spotted at Celtic Park on Wednesday night and is expected to sign a two-year loan move with Brendan Rodgers’ Scottish Premier League side.

SOCCEROOS: Arnold looking to bring youth through

Arzani, who only broke into the A-League in January, was handed his international debut by short-term Australia coach Bert van Marwijk and made three substitute appearances at the World Cup in Russia, where he was the youngest player at the tournament.

Van Marwijk’s successor Arnold was optimistic he’d do “exceptionally well”.

“I’ve had a conversation with Daniel, it’s a big move for the kid,” Arnold said.

“Daniel’s an intelligent kid — he knows what his plan and his goal is — and he believes he’s going somewhere where he’ll get game time.

“Celtic being in the Champions League but also so dominant in the Scottish competition, they play 60-65 games a year so he believes they’ll get to play more games than what he would here in the A-League.

“That’s the key, that wherever he goes he plays.

“It’s good to hear a kid have that confidence and that belief in himself, and I’m sure he’ll do exceptionally well.”

On Thursday, City Football Group confirmed Arzani’s transfer subject to international clearance.

Arzani described the move to Europe as “a dream come true and a challenge I’m confident will only help me improve as a player“.

“Watching players like Aaron Mooy play at City before moving to the Premier League has been a great inspiration and, with the world-class coaching and facilities we have in Melbourne, it’s always felt attainable.”
