Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez say they have felt all the love after their baby boy died, as they shared a picture of his twin surrounded by family.

Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a moving photograph of his newborn baby girl arriving home following the devastating loss of her twin.

The footballing star said “now was the time to be grateful for the life” he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez had welcomed into the world.

And he said they both felt “all the love” they had been given since their baby boy died.

The Manchester United striker shared a picture on his Instagram page of their latest addition at home surrounded by his family.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced that their newborn baby son has died.

Ronaldo revealed in a social media post last October that the couple were expecting twins.

In a post released on the Manchester United forward’s Twitter account, they confirmed the birth of a baby girl.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” Ronaldo and Rodriguez said in a jointly-signed statement.

“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.

“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.” The couple, who met during Ronaldo’s time at Real Madrid, have a four-year old daughter together, while Ronaldo has three other children.

“Your pain is our pain, Cristiano,” Manchester United tweeted. “Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”

Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro wrote a heartbreaking tribute after the tragic news came to light.

She wrote on Instagram: “ “I love you and my heart is with you over there.

“May God take care of you and strengthen your path more and more.

“Our little angel is already on father’s lap.

“And our little girl who is here firm and strong and healthy will teach us more and more that only love matters.”
