ONLY in America does every game of a pre-season tournament need to go to penalties.

So, what do you get with no a stakes shootout mixed with a pre-season run? This morning’s fare from the International Champions Cup clash between Manchester City and Liverpool - a waste of time penalty shootout – and a shocker!

Given the way Manchester City took its penalties at Yankee Stadium in New York against Liverpool this morning, you’ve got to wonder if they were trying to hurry home for the Charity Shield.
