Socceroos defender Milos Degenek is being chased by Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory, while boom Macarthur FC youngster Ariath Piol is wanted by clubs in France, Switzerland and the US.
With the transfer window opening on Thursday, A-League clubs are bidding for the services of a host of players and are also set to profit from the sale of some in-demand talent.
Macarthur is understood to have received an offer of 500,000 euros ($A831,462) from French second division club Troyes for the services of 20-year-old attacker Piol, who has impressed for the Bulls this season.
Also in pursuit of Piol is Swiss Super League club St. Gallen, while there is also a US Major League Soccer club also interested in signing the versatile forward.
Meanwhile, Degenek, 30, is a free agent after parting ways with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade
While it’s understood that Degenek’s preference is to remain in Europe, his need to play regular football to remain in the plans of Socceroos coach Tony Popovic could result in him joining an A-League club.
Set to farewell another Socceroos defender in Jason Geria, who has signed with Japanese top-flight club Albirex Niigata, the Victory is keen to bolster its backline stocks by snaring Degenek.
The Wanderers also want Degenek and have also shown an interest in Socceroos centre-back Thomas Deng, who has left Albirex Niigata.
However, Deng is expected to join Japanese second division club Júbilo Iwata, which is coached by Australian John Hutchinson.
Elsewhere, a host of new faces are set to join the struggling Perth Glory.
They include Japanese defenders Yuto Misao and Takuya Okamoto, former Central Coast, Melbourne City and Western United attacking weapon Lachie Wales – whose most recent club was South Korean second division side Gyeongnam – and striker Pat Wood, who is set to join the Glory on loan from Sydney FC.
Sydney is still on the hunt for a central defender but has also been linked to former Wanderers, Wellington and Newcastle forward Jaushua Sotirio, who has departed Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters.
Cellar dwellers Brisbane Roar will be strengthened by the return of attacking midfielder Henry Hore, whose loan spell with South Korean club Gangwon has come to an end.
However, talented teenage striker Thomas Waddingham will leave the Roar for a transfer fee, with English Championship clubs QPR and Portsmouth bidding for his services.
