THERE’S plenty of punters out there with no emotional investment in the Premier League title race: so the question is, who should you support?

WITH just a month left in the season, the Barclays Premier League title race has come down to a three-horse race between Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

There’s plenty of punters out there – looking at you, Manchester United fans – who don’t support any of the trio, but our guide is here to help you pick a team to barrack for in the final few matches of what’s been a riveting season.

GOOD, BAD & UGLY FROM THE WEEKEND EPL ROUND

LIVERPOOL WINS EMOTIONAL EPIC AGAINST CITY

THE SCENARIO:

* Liverpool 77 points (Fixtures to come: Norwich, Chelsea, Palace, Newcastle)

* Chelsea 75 (Sunderland, Liverpool, Norwich, Cardiff)

* Manchester City 70 (Sunderland, WBA, Palace, Everton, Villa, West Ham)

News_Rich_Media: Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has described last night’s blockbuster match against Manchester City as the longest 90 minutes of his career, saying it was an emotional victory.

LIVERPOOL

You may have noticed a few of your colleagues wearing red jerseys in the office on casual Fridays in recent times. They’re Liverpool fans, and the reason they’ve come out of the woodwork in mass numbers is because they’re on the verge of their first English league title in 24 years.

A club full of history, the Reds are the logical choice for neutrals with an attraction to sentimentality. We love an underdog and Liverpool is just that – no one expected them to be challenging for the title at the beginning of the season, and they’re doing just that.

The romance doesn’t end there. The club’s captain – Steven Gerrard – is a legend of the game, and has won everything there is to win in club football, EXCEPT a Premier League medal.

He deserves it and it would be fitting for him to receive such an accolade in the 25-year anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster – a tragedy in which 96 Liverpool fans were killed during a stadium collapse in 1989.

The Reds’ tale is also that of redemption – with star man Luis Suarez going from English football’s most hated man to the darling of the EPL. A season ago he was biting opponents and diving all over the pitch. Now the headlines are all about his superb return to form … 29 goals will do that.

And, they’re damn good to watch.

Go for Liverpool if you’re … a romantic

News_Rich_Media: It's a truly competitive category but take a look at five of the Premier League's games of the season thus far, featuring Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and an inconsistent Cardiff.

CHELSEA

For the neutral, the Chelsea football club is about one rather charismatic and often controversial man … manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach is a master of the mind games, wears his heart of his sleeve and his press conferences always making for humorous viewing.

“The title race is between two horses [Arsenal and Manchester City] and a little horse that needs milk and needs to learn how to jump … Maybe next season we can race,” was his bizarre analogy of the title race back in February.

Jose’s team plays smart, calculated football and is expert at picking up points against their championship rivals, with Everton the only team in the top six to pick up a win against the London club.

The Blues are good for a laugh too, with Fernando Torres – once considered one of the world’s premier strikers – being reduced to resembling a Sunday park footballer, following his big money move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011.

Go for Chelsea if you’re … a pragmatist

MANCHESTER CITY

The final team in this three-way dance, Manchester City is fast becoming the global superpower of world football.

Backed by UAE petrodollars, City has been able to buy some of the world’s biggest stars, including Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and David Silva.

They play some of the most eye-catching football when on song and have used their wealth to expand the game outside the United Kingdom.

Patriotic Aussies will note the club recently completed the purchase of A-League club Melbourne Heart. A City title win has got to be good news for the Heart.

City also gave us one of the most spine-tingling memories in football two seasons ago when it virtually won the Premier League with the last kick of the season.

Oh and those pesky Manchester United fans will hate City winning. That’s got to be a good thing.

Go for City if you’re … power hungry

News_Rich_Media: Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists the title race is far from over but admits Liverpool will deserve the League if they manage to win all their remaining fixtures, while Brendan Rodgers has praised Liverpool fans for their support.
