ADELAIDE United’s Al Hassan Toure has continued his stellar rise in Australian football, as he scored on his debut for Australia Under 23 in a 5-1 win over China in Chongqing.
The 19-year-old striker committed to representing Australia last week and has made an instant impact in the green and gold with a sensational strike from outside the box to make it 3-0.

It has been a mammoth year so far for the young Reds star, as he was dominant throughout the club’s FFA Cup campaign and capped it off with a man of the match performance in the 4-0 rout of Melbourne City in the final to win the Mark Viduka Medal.
Following his FFA Cup run, there was uncertainty whether Toure would accept the Olyroos call up or if he’d represent Liberia, which is where his parents emanate from.
Daniel Bouman, Jacob Italiano, Ramy Najjarine and Ben Folami completed the 5-1 win over China, which is the start of a three-match tour of China ahead of Australia’s bid to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Australia will play North Korea on Sunday before facing Lithuania on Tuesday to finish off the tour.
