After last weekend’s catastrophic error against Brisbane, Wanderers goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic has been warned his place as No.1 is far from set in stone.

Wanderers goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic will get the chance to redeem himself after last weekend’s catastrophic error — but the 31-year-old is on notice that one more mistake will consign him to the bench.
Already dropped and recalled once this season, Janjetovic’s fumble gifted Brisbane Roar the corner from which they equalised in the last seconds of last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Suncorp Stadium.
It deprived Western Sydney of just their third win of the season, and compounded a campaign where Janjetovic has made a series of errors of judgment.
Now coach Markus Babbel has underscored his willingness to draft rookie keeper Nicholas Suman back into the side if he sees a repeat from his erstwhile first choice keeper.
"I said to him, 'You can fall down but what I expect now is that you stand up',” Babbel revealed. “This is what has happened (at training).
"He knows it wasn't the best decision but, even then, it wasn't a goal. We had the chance to clear the ball but someone else did a mistake as well.
"It cost us two points but it's a learning process: to learn to handle pressure. The pressure is on now, so it's also good to see for me how can you handle this pressure.
“He’s a good goalkeeper, a good guy — it’s up to him to work harder, focus more and the mistakes will not come.”
Janjetovic, who only signed a four-year deal last year, will play against Newcastle on Friday night, but will be under no illusions that Suman is waiting in the wings.
"Normally he is not making these mistakes, maybe he was too sure because he signed a longer contract, feels comfortable, maybe the pressure from the other goalkeepers wasn't there," Babbel said.
"Maybe he was in a comfort zone, so now it's time to get out of this comfort zone. He saw there is a young fella there, he's doing well, he's a big talent.
"And we are not afraid to make changes. (For now) he is our No.1, so now it's up to him to show us for the future.
“If not, we have another goalkeeper who I know now is also good.”
