Chris Gayle is the “Universe Boss”.
And the West Indies great was at his pure best after he was called on to deliver a few overs in their loss to England on Friday.
Gayle put a show for the crowd at Southampton with an A+ performance with the cameras watching his every move, resulting in large cheers from the crowd as he continued to entertain.
The 39-year-old stole the show as he wore his reflective aviator sunglasses during his bowling stint, sending down five overs of gentle off-spin following his unique warm-up floss.
His first highlight came in the second over with Gayle toying with umpire Kumar Dharmasena as he attempted to countdown the Decision Review System (DRS) timer as he made a fake appeal for LBW, following England star Joe Root being hit on the pads.
But it wasn’t just all fun and games for the opening batsman, with Gayle nearly picking up a wicket as he struck Chris Woakes on the pads.
West Indies captain Jason Holder decided to review the decision, but the ball-tracking revealed it had pitched outside the line of off-stump.
