In reply England looked on track to chase down the monster total as Phil Salt and Jos Buttler put the Aussie bowlers to the sword with 73 runs after seven overs.

But it fell away quickly as Adam Zampa flipped the script by removing both openers and helping restrict the Poms to 6/165.

David Warner lead the way at the top of the order in a blistering innings that got off to a lightning start.

Warner and Travis Head put the foot on the pedal from the get go as they blasted 55 runs from the opening four overs.

Mark Wood and Will Jacks both gave up 22 runs in their opening overs with Warner in particular bludgening Wood for three sixes and a four in the fourth over.

The win makes it two in a row for the Aussies while England have yet to register a win at the tournament.

6.16am - England lose another one

The run rate is getting away from the Poms and Moeen Ali knew it as he looked to keep his country in the fight.

But off the bowling of Pat Cummins he went for one too many and holed out to the safe hands of David Warner in the deep.

England now have two fresh batsmen at the crease and require 74 runs from 26 deliveries.

6.05am - Aussies wrestling the momentum away

England looked to have a strong grip on the run chase after their openers went wild, but the Aussies wrestled back the momentum with three wickets across a five over span.

Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow looked to be fighting back with Ali going after Glenn Maxwell, but Josh Hazlewood put an end to that when he sent Bairstow on his way.

The English keeper attempted to send one into the stands but chipped the ball straight into the hands of Glenn Maxwell who comfortably came off the boundary to claim the catch.

5.45am - Zampa does it again

Adam Zampa has been the key man with the ball for the Aussies as he’s now sent Jos Buttler on his way.

After being hoisted down the ground for an almighty six, Buttler attempted an audacious reverse sweep but hit it straight into the hands of Pat Cummins.

5.35am - Zampa gets the breakthrough

The Poms needed to go at over 10 runs and Jos Buttler and Phil Salt were doing just that as they put the pressure back on the Aussies with 73 runs in the opening seven overs.

Mitchell Starc was the man they went after with 37 runs being given up from his first three overs.

Then the Aussies brought Adam Zampa into the attack with the spinner striking with his very first ball.

A slider completely beat Salt and slammed into the top of middle stump to give the Aussies their first wicket.

5:30am - Warner’s defiant middle finger to critics

Warner and Travis Head got the innings off to a lightning start as they butchered the English bowling attack to all parts of Kensington Oval.

After the opening four overs the duo had smashed 55 runs with Mark Wood and Will Jacks both giving up 22 runs from their opening overs.

Warner demolished Wood with three sixes and a four to put the Poms on the back foot, but the breakthrough wasn’t far away with Moeen Ali removing the dangerous Warner.

A low bouncing delivery went straight through and sent Warner on his way, ending his demolishing innings after 39 runs from 16 deliveries.

The Aussies followed Warner’s lead and went after the England bowlers as they smashed the white ball to all parts of the ground and scored the highest total so far in the tournament.

The top five all scored 28 or more runs with the Aussies finishing up at 7/201.

England are still chasing their first win of the tournament after their opener against Scotland was abandoned because of rain just 10 overs into Scotland’s innings.

Australia claimed the win in their opener against Oman after securing a comfortable 39 run victory.

Warner was again one of the main pieces for the Aussies as he and Marcus Stoinis partnered up for a 102 run stand.

Stoinis claimed man of the match honours with a half century and three wickets.
