Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull caught in the rain at the Commonwealth Games

THIS week started on a dampener for Malcolm Turnbull, and last night it got wetter when he got caught in a downpour at the Commonwealth Games and was busted for seemingly not knowing the words to an Aussie classic.

A TOUGH few days have got even worse for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull after it became apparent he doesn’t know the words to iconic Australian hit, You’re the Voice.

The John Farnham classic was played over the load speaker at the final night of the swimming, with the hyped up crowd singing as one.

Turnbull was sitting with the Australian swim team at the time, who also got in on the act by belting out the classic tune.

However, the leader of the county’s lips remained sealed throughout the song and viewers were not impressed.

The PM was also in for a damp night on the Goldie.

Just a day after the PM slumped to his 30th straight poll defeat — the same magic number he used to roll his predecessor Tony Abbott, he turned out last night only to cop another drenching, this time from the heavens.

As the rain poured down, a volunteer dispensed plastic ponchos to the crowd.

The PM quickly pulled one on before resuming the action, laughing the downpour off.

“Queensland, beautifully wet one minute, perfectly dry the next,” he said.

“It’s a great night.”

He took it off when the rain stopped minutes later.

That’s better.

It wasn’t a bad night of action for Mr Turnbull to take in with four gold medals through the opening part of the evening.

Schoolgirl Ariarne Titmus, Mitch Larkin, Emily Seebohm and Lakeisha Patterson all took gold through the early part of the evening.

Mr Turnbull found the time to join the Australian swimming team at the poolside after the downpour.
