You’d think her family would be accustomed to her golden girl status, but her proud mum Bev can still barely hold it together when anyone asks about her daughter.
Cook, 43, brought her mother to a glamorous ladies lunch in Broadbeach celebrating the women of Australia sport, and when Games Confidential asked her what her proudest moment was, Bev’s eyes welled up before she could even string a sentence together.

The pair enjoyed a mother, daughter day out at the Longines Records Club last week, mingling with fellow sport legends including Dawn Fraser, Michelle Payne, Lisa Curry and Stephanie Rice.
