JOSH Gibson says there’s no romantic link between the retired AFL player and singer Delta Goodrem.
While the pair were photographed attending the same event this week, they are simply friends.
Gibson previously dated Goodrem’s best friend and housemate, Los Angeles-based television presenter Renee Bargh.
“I dated Renee and Renee and Delta live together,” Gibson told Games Confidential while attending a lunch at the Longines Records Club at Broadbeach to celebrate Rugby Sevens footballers.

“There is nothing true to that rumour. Delta is Renee’s best friend and she would never do that and vice versa. We were there supporting our friends, who have started a new venture in Sydney and wanted to show some love for them. We sat at separate tables with different people but had a photo together on the media wall. There is absolutely no romance between us.”
The pair were photographed on the media wall for the launch of Mark & Vinny’s restaurant, opened by good friends Mark Felipelli and Vince Pizzinga in Waterloo.
Gibson, 34, joked that he has no time for love as he recently relocated from Melbourne to Sydney after spending six weeks in the South African jungle competing on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!
“I have been too flat out trying to organise my life,” the Hawthorn great said. “I am playing massive catch up. At the minute I am leaving my dog at home in Melbourne and he is hating me as it is so I’ve got to work on that relationship before I even contemplate dating any females.”
Meanwhile, Gibson said he’d like to see the sport of AFL represented at future Commonwealth Games.
“We need to catch the other countries up,” he said. “We have the AFL International Series each year, you see Japan, Tonga, Samoa and England, all those countries have teams so it is possible.”
