TIM Worner and wife Katrina put on a united front as they stepped out as a couple for the first time at a gala event since a cheating scandal drew the television executive into national headlines.

The Channel Seven chief executive suited up for a black tie event on the eve of the Commonwealth Games kicking off on the Gold Coast.

“I’m here with Katrina and she’s really looking forward to the Commonwealth Games,” Worner told News Corp.

“Katrina loves the gymnastics and we are looking forward to hosting quite a few of our (corporate) partners here and having a bit of fun.”

In December 2016 it was alleged Worner had an consensual affair with his colleagues executive assistant, Amber Harrison.

She was subsequently dismissed and paid out. Katrina Worner, mother of the couple’s four children, was unaware of the affair until it was exposed.

Worner and his wife stepped out for the Elegance With Attitude Black Tie Dinner at the Longines Records Club overlooking Broadbeach.

With Seven the official games broadcaster, Worner’s boss, chairman Kerry Stokes was also in attendance with his wife, Christine Simpson.

Stokes son, media executive Ryan and wife Claire were also guests.

“If you think about the Winter Olympics, we came away with three medals,” Worner said. “This Games we are targeting over 100 medals.”

Worner, who lives in Sydney’s north, said he was particularly looking forward to the beach volleyball.

“I’m looking forward to Australia winning some medals,” he said.

“The beach volleyball is my favourite. I’m looking forward to seeing them in competition. I really love it being a Manly boy because I see them training there.”
