“AUSSIE, Aussie, Aussie! Oi, oi, oi.”
Hundreds of people have shaken hands, taken selfies, received autographs and chanted out loud to Australia’s Commonwealth Games athletes at today’s ticker tape parade.
Colourful ribbons were left strewn across Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall as the athletes made their way to King George Square.
The likes of Ariarne Titmus, Mitch Larkin, Emily Seebohm and Kurt Fearnley joined today’s celebrations.
Kurt Fearnley was presented with the Keys to the City of Brisbane by Lord Mayor Graham Quirk at the conclusion of the parade.
Titmus said it was fantastic to see so many people out in support.
“It’s amazing and even better to have it here at home in Brisbane,” she said.
