Commonwealth Games 2022: Princess Charlotte attends swimming with Prince Williams and Kate

With neither of her brothers to steal the limelight, Princess Charlotte stole the show as the royals arrived at the Commonwealth Games to take in the swimming.

Princess Charlotte is used to stealing the show. Fresh from her animated performances in the royal box at Wimbledon and at her grandmother’s Diamond Jubilee, Charlotte was at her cheeky best at the Commonwealth Games.

The daughter of William and Kate wore every emotion on her face in the stands at the acquatic stadium, where the Australian swim team have dominated all week.

There was no sign of George or Louis

Aussies Kaylee McKeown, Sam Short and Flynn Southam were among the athletes in action.

The royals also watched the 4x100 mixed medley relay heats and the men’s 1500m freestyle heats to come.

Prince Charles was the first of the Royals to appear at this year’s games with the 73-year-old chosen to represent HRH Queen Elizabeth II at the Opening Ceremony.

Charles arrived in a vintage Aston Martin with wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.

Charlotte laughed, rolled her eyes, chatted with her mum, gave her dad the thumbs up and waved to the crowd — much to the delight of fans, families of swimmers and volunteers.

It was first time any of the popular royal youngsters have been spotted at the Birmingham Games and they stayed for the morning session in the pool.

William and Kate were joined by his uncle Edward, the Earl of Wessex, wife Sophie and and their chidlren Louise and James.

They had earlier been to the athletics stadium.

The Queen will watch the games from afar on her summer break at Sandringham.
