Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon have put on an affectionate display while leaving a training session together after cleaning up at the Commonwealth Games.
The loved-up couple appeared in high spirits as they left their Gold Coast training session Wednesday morning, spotted laughing together while arm-in-arm.
McKeon, 27, wore an oversized grey hoodie, black sunglasses, shorts and sneakers, while her beau, 26, stepped out in black track pants, a black T-shirt, black sunglasses and white sneakers.
The pair recently returned from a well-earned romantic getaway after incredible performances in the pool at the Birmingham Games.
McKeon smashed the record for gold medals won by any athlete in the Commonwealth Games’ more than 90-year history, taking home six gold, one silver and one bronze to equal the most gold medals at a single Games.
Simpson won gold in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and silver in the 4x100m medley relay after swimming in the heats.
After keeping details of their personal lives relatively quiet during the early stages of their relationship, Simpson and McKeon stepped out for the premiere of the Elvis biopic in Queensland in June.
They also went Instagram official in July, posting photos of themselves holding hands in Spain.
“A brief rendezvous in Barcelona with my love,” Simpson’s caption read.
And they jetsetted to Venice, Italy for a well-deserved break after cleaning up in the pool at the Birmingham Games.
Taking in the sights, the couple decided to hire out a private boat for a tour of the iconic canals.
They also spent an evening enjoying each other's company over two classic Italian cocktails – Simpson sipping on a Negroni and McKeon an Aperol Spritz.
McKeon and Simpson recently were forced to defend themselves amid swirling speculation that they were caught up in a troubled love triangle with swimming star Kyle Chalmers.
Chalmers – who dated McKeon in 2021 – called the rumours “actually just crap”.
Australian swimming great Grant Hackett told the Today show the rumour mill circling the trio was just that.
“They’re professionals, they’re teammates, they get along with each other, they respect each other where they need to, and they go out there and they execute performances for the country and they support one another,” he said.
