Cam Newton said his son can already do something extraordinary

WE’RE used to sportsmen saying ludicrous things, but Cam Newton just won the blue ribbon with this unbelievable statement about his baby.

SCIENTISTS, put down your test tubes.

You can forget about trying to uncover the next algorithm, chemical formula, DNA strain or whatever it is you guys do to try and advance the human race (I’ve seen Captain America and Wolverine, so clearly I know how it all works).

Turns out all you need to get humans one step closer to invincibility is establish a selective breeding program with Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback has been an integral part of his team’s road to the Super Bowl — to be played against the Denver Broncos on Monday February 8 — and part of that could be to do with the fact that he is, in fact, superhuman. Or at least has more impressive genes than the rest of us.

And this is the, ahem, proof.

Speaking to the media after landing on the West Coast on Sunday, Newton revealed something special about his one-year-old son Chosen.

“I was going to bring little Chosen with me, but I didn’t think he could walk down the steps yet. He’s already walking if you didn’t know. He’s a month old,” Newton said.

Yep, he’s a one-month-old and already walking. Newton’s son’s name is especially apt because it appears he’s been hand-picked by God to represent the next phase of human evolution.

To put Newton’s claim into perspective, regular human babies tend to start walking aged between nine and 12 months. So, by our calculations, Chosen is actually a superbaby.

It should only be a matter of time before we all forget about Batman and Spiderman and start looking towards little Chosen to fight crime and protect humanity from all the world’s evils.

The Super Bowl will pit Newton against legendary Broncos QB Peyton Panning, and the performance of both men will go a long way towards determining which team leaves the stadium happiest.

Manning, the 18-year veteran and future Hall of Famer may be playing his last game in next Monday’s clash at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

The 26-year-old Newton has vowed he will remain the same flamboyant quarterback that led Carolina to the NFL’s best regular season record at 15-1 with his exuberant brand of passing and rushing as the league’s top dual-threat. While Denver is the league’s top defensive team, the Panthers are the league’s highest scoring offence.

Manning, 39, the longtime face of the NFL and one of its most marketable stars, has battled injuries and diminished skills and now strives to play mistake-free to give the team’s vaunted defence a chance to control the game.

Both teams were given rousing send-offs by their fans before making the trek to the Bay Area for next Sunday’s Super Bowl. Oddsmakers have made the Panthers a six-point favourite in the early betting.

The Panthers and Broncos both largely put their game-plans together in practice back home, leaving just some fine tuning ahead of the big game.

Denver, playing in their record-tying eighth Super Bowl game, are going for their third Lombardi Trophy.

Carolina are aiming for their first championship in their second appearance in the Super Bowl.
