UFC 305 predictions and analysis with UFC stars, how to watch in Australia
UFC fighters are in near unanimous agreement about who wins the UFC 305 main event.
Boxing/MMA
Don't miss out on the headlines from Boxing/MMA. Followed categories will be added to My News.
All the talking is done, weigh-ins are finished and it’s time to throw down.
But first, we asked a host of UFC fighters who they think will win the UFC 305 main event between middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis, and former two-time champ, Israel Adesanya.
ROBERT WHITTAKER
I think DDP gets it done. I think he makes the fight uncomfortable for Adesanya, gets his back to the fence and keeps him there.
STEVE ERCEG
I really believe Adesanya’s gonna win this one. I think the way Strickland was able to land the jab against Dricus consistently – especially early – I think Izzy can do the same.
But then he’ll put kicks up, overhands, all these different punches. I think he’s gonna take him out.
JACK JENKINS
Izzy, easy. I’m team Izzy all the way. I think he dominates, controls the distance and Dricus will try and get desperate, come forward and Izzy will catch him over the top.
TOM NOLAN
It’s a tough one to pick. They’re both so talented, but I’ve been an Izzy fan forever, so I’m gonna go with Izzy.
I want Izzy to win, but Dricus is awesome too – he’s a winner. Sometimes his style doesn’t look super clean in there, but he just knows how to win. He’s one of those guys.
CASEY O’NEILL
I’ve got Israel regaining his title. I love Izzy and I think he worked really hard.
I’d love to see him score a big knockout and get the crowd going.
KAI KARA-FRANCE
Stylistically, you’ve got a sniper – a sharpshooter – in Izzy and you’ve got a tank in Dricus that’s gonna try forcing his way in and try to solve Izzy’s puzzle.
But Izzy’s on another level, he’s coming to fight. I can’t wait to see him go out there and show his class and why he’s the best in the world.
ALEX VOLKANOVSKI (via his YouTube)
I’m expecting a proper performance from Adesanya where he goes out and does it in impressive fashion.
Dricus is very awkward and unorthodox, he’s got awkward pressure which is hard for people to deal with.
But I feel something big is coming – a highlight reel Izzy finish.
TAI TUIVASA
I think my boy Izzy’s gonna come back and do his thing.
MATEUSZ GAMROT
Me and Dricus, we have a good relationship. He’s good everywhere. Adesanya’s a high-level striker, but his wrestling and jiu-jitsu is not the same level. If Dricus takes him down, the fight will be easier for him.
The power is different too. My prediction is Dricus will win the fight.
