Tim Tszyu is leaving Australia and a new life beckons in Las Vegas as he continues his quest to conquer the boxing world

Tim Tszyu is leaving Australia. He has sold his $100,000 Chevy and ready to start a new life in America with his fiancee in his bid to scale world boxing’s highest of heights.

This masthead can reveal Tszyu is leaving Australia and will look to move to Las Vegas in the months after his world-title blockbuster against Bakhram Murtazaliev in Orlando on Sunday (AEDT).

Tszyu confirmed he will be the latest Australian sporting superstar to set up a permanent base in the US as the boxing sensation also makes plans to juggle fighting with becoming a father.

Born in Sydney, Tszyu has called the Harbour City home and it was the scene of his victory over Tony Harrison in 2023 at Qudos Bank Arena which saw him clinch the WBO interim world title.

But Tszyu is on the move, with the 29-year-old set to buy a home in Las Vegas and selling off his 1955 Chevy for more than $100,000 at auction this week as he prepares for a new life in America.

Tszyu will become a two-time world champion if he beats Murtazaliev and believes a move to Vegas — boxing’s mecca — will help in his mission to be the No. 1 pugilist on the planet.

“I’ve gone all-in on this,” Tszyu said.

“This is a big dream of mine to make it here in America.

“I’ve said goodbye to Australia and started to look at houses here.

“I’m definitely moving.

“It feels like for me … I’m a young kid trying to fulfil his destiny.

“So, yes, I’ve slowly started looking for houses and cars.

“The future does belong here in America.”

Growing up, Tszyu dreamt of fighting in Vegas and he lived out a childhood ambition in March when he made history as the first Australian to headline a pay-per-view event in Sin City.

While Tszyu suffered a loss to Sebastian Fundora after a shocking head cut, the seductive build-up and hype was further evidence that if he wanted to truly dominate the sport, a move Stateside was essential.

In his heart, Tszyu will always call Australia home, but he was resigned to a US relocation given the many months he has spent in Vegas preparing for fights in training camps.

Tszyu has a passion for cars but even his beloved ‘55 Chevy has hit the road as he and fiancee Alexandra Constantine look to settle in Vegas in the New Year.

Tszyu’s manager Glen Jennings said America is calling, with a number of massive US fights, potentially worth in excess of $10 million, beckoning for the son of Australian boxing legend Kostya.

“It’s a big move but already in his mind, he is done,” Jennings said.

“Tim is ready to make the move to America.

“He has been here for six months this year, so he is ready to make the transition.

“It’s a good thing, it’s inevitable really. America is where Tim needs to be to get ready for the highest levels. This is where all the best sparring is and Australia is so small by comparison and it’s a long way away.

“As much as Tim will miss home, he will still have the luxury of fighting, then shooting home to Sydney for a holiday and getting back to the US.

“Because he fights so often, he is in camp so often, which means month after month after month of renting and hiring places and it gets expensive.

“There is still a fair bit of water to go under the bridge in terms of actually making the move to America, but that’s the plan.

“Alexandra can move with him and look to set up a home.”

Jennings said he is assisting Tszyu with buying a home in Vegas, where the ‘Soul Taker’ has spent the past few months training for his showdown with Murtazaliev.

“He is already selling things to prepare for the move,” Jennings said.

“The car is gone, he had a 1955 Chevy, we put both of our cars into auctions just this week and both have been sold.

“Tim’s car went for over $100,000 so he was happy with that.

“Tim and Alexandra can buy a really nice place, enjoy a comfortable life and have less disruption.

“We’re looking at the Henderson or Green Valley areas, we have a good base at Vegas with sparring and gyms so Tim has become familiar with the area.

“He will go into camp in Vegas in early 2025 and he probably won’t come back after that.”

Tszyu proposed to his fiancee in 2021 and celebrates his 30th birthday next month on November 2.

Jennings said Tszyu has plans to start a family, another reason why he and Alexandra are keen to establish a permanent base in America.

“Tim does indeed want to become a dad,” he said.

“He is coming up to the age of 30 so part of this transition is to be able to find a home to do his boxing and have a nice life and that means having a family.

“I don’t think having kids would affect Tim’s focus on boxing.

“He is so driven you can’t bend his mind on anything. He has Kostya’s DNA in that regard.

“He would be a wonderful dad.”
