Paul Gallen has taken aim at Lucas Browne’s physique and vowed to end his career by defeating the former world heavyweight champion on April 21.
The pair came together in Wollongong on Tuesday morning to confirm their bout will take place at WIN Entertainment Centre, and Gallen proceeded to tear strips off Browne, his title victory, and ban for taking banned supplements.
“Maybe some of the supplements over the years are starting to take effect, my missus actually saw it and said, ‘Give him a bra’,” Gallen said.
“I said, ‘Darling, he’s probably too big for you, those b---- t---’. So, I’m a little bit concerned about that. We’ve spoken about testing.
“I asked the Rose brothers to be tested today randomly throughout the preparation and obviously after the fight. Not sure what’s happening there, that’s up to them, but I want to be tested as much as we possibly can leading into this.”

No Limit chief executive George Rose, who is promoting the event, confirmed: “There will be mandatory drug testing for this event”.
Browne attended the press conference wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “#BashGallen”.
But Gallen won the war of words on Tuesday.
Browne became the only Australian to win a world heavyweight title when he claimed the WBA Regular belt over Ruslan Chagaev in 2016, but boxing’s convoluted title structures gave Gallen plenty of ammunition.
“He won a version of the world title,” Gallen said.
“He wasn’t the WBA champion at all. He won a version of a world title.
“I would liken it to a reserve grade competition in rugby league. If you win a reserve grade competition, you don’t run around telling everyone you won the NRL premiership, which is what he does.
“As far as the money goes, I took $100,000 less to make this fight happen, so if anyone thinks I don’t want the fight, there’s $100,000 reasons I did want the fight.
“I’m going to prove everyone wrong, I am going to beat him and shut him up. He’s going to have nothing after this, he’s going to be beat by a footy player, part-time boxer, I don’t know where he’s going to go from there.
“He’ll be finished.”
Browne maintained he is the greatest heavyweight boxer in Australian history.
“I definitely think I’m the GOAT,” Browne said.
“I don’t really like what (Gallen) says most of the time in regards to me. Calling me a bum and saying he’s got better things to do at the end of the year, it does sort of rub me the wrong way considering I’m the best heavyweight we’ve had in Australia.”
Gallen (10-0-1, 5KO) will be a huge underdog against Browne (29-2, 25KO) but is supremely confident.
“I’m there to win, there’s no doubt about that,” Gallen said.
“I know it’s a big fight for myself, he has got a good record in boxing, he’s achieved things that many other heavyweight Australians haven’t achieved, so a huge occasion, I’m looking forward to it, I’m ready for it.”
It’s also been announced that the main co-event for the fight will be Queensland lightweight Liam Wilson (8-0, 6KO) versus Perth’s Francis Chua (8-1-1, 3KO).
