‘No!’: Tim Tszyu’s wife Alexandra appalled by idea of her children becoming boxers

Tim Tszyu stunned the boxing world by putting on a clinic against Joey Spencer before shocking his wife with a claim about their kids.

Tim Tszyu celebrates emphatic win over Spencer

Tim Tszyu’s wife has emphatically shut down suggestions their future children may become boxers, with Alexandra hoping the Tszyu boxing name stops with Tim and his brother Nikita.

Tszyu put on a boxing clinic on Sunday, dispatching American Joey Spencer with ease, as his fourth-round TKO victory stopped his two-fight skid.

The 30-year-old endured a rough 2024, losing the WBC and WBO super welterweight titles to Sebastian Fundora before being comprehensively beaten by Bakhram Murtazaliev.

However, Tszyu looked back to his best on Sunday, with his pressure and hand speed too much for Spencer to handle.

It left Spencer’s father no choice but to throw in the towel in the fourth round, with his son shelled up against the ropes with punches raining down on him.

“I hope I teach people if they drop and they go on the floor and when sh** hits the fan, you can always get back up and rise to the top,” Tszyu said after the win.

“For me, it was proving it to myself, and I proved it to everyone in the world.

“I learned from my mistakes, you don’t go in like a hothead from the first round and just abandon everything. I had one hell of an opponent in Joey Spencer, so I’m blessed to share the ring with him and he’s going to have plenty more opportunities in the future.”

Keith Thurman is likely next for Tszyu, with the Aussie telling the American to “sign the contract” post-fight.

However, it isn’t the prospect of another fight that sent shivers down his wife’s spine on Sunday, as you can see in the video below.

It was the revelation that Tim would love their future child to continue on the Tszyu family legacy of becoming a boxer.

Hilarious response from Alexandra Tszyu to kids statement

When asked about his family’s record over the years, with the combined record between him, his father Kostya and brother Nikita extending to 13-0 in Newcastle and 51-0 in Australia after Tszyu’s win on the weekend, Tim floated the possibility of his future kids continuing on the family name in the ring.

“Hopefully this is not the last time I’m here,” Tszyu said.

“But if it is, it has been one hell of a show, it’s been one hell of a journey from my father to myself and my brother and hopefully when I have little kids we can continue this.”

But wife Alexandra wasn’t having a bar of it, screaming “no” multiple times as the crowd erupted into laughter.

It is no surprise she is not thrilled by the prospect of her future child getting in the ring, with Tim’s mother recently admitting she can no longer watch either of her son’s fight.

Once married to champion boxer Kostya, Natasha has been around boxing for most of her life, but admitted last week that watching her kids box has finally become too much to handle.

“For me as a mother, I don’t want to be sitting there and hear this noise. What happens in the fight, for me, it doesn’t matter win or lose. It’s my son,” Natasha told Code Sports ahead of Tszyu’s fight against Spencer.

“But I don’t want to hear the noise. I can feel every punch. Every punch they take, I can feel it inside me. It’s a mother’s connection to the son. It’s still very strong.

“It’s like a dog and her puppies, someone is taking your puppies, and the dog is getting angry.

“That’s how I feel, like for me I’m still protecting my boys. That’s my instinct.”

Tszyu was left with a concussion and spent four hours at a Florida hospital after his brutal third-round knockout to Murtazaliev in October.

And Natasha says she wept uncontrollably out at dinner with her other son Nikita after the fight, leading to them deciding it was time to stop watching boxing.

“He (Nikita) said, ‘Mum, that’s enough. Boxing is for us, but it’s not for you. Stop watching, stop worrying, stop asking the questions. It’s better for you to live your own life’,” Natasha recalled.
