The Southport School’s desire to finish in the top three on the GPS basketball table has taken an early hit with TSS going down 89-95 to St Joseph’s Nudgee College on Saturday.
REVEALED: Gold Coast basketballer’s top 10 juniors
Lloyd McVeigh did everything in his power to lift TSS to victory, leading all scorers with 24 points and 10 rebounds but TSS struggled to contain Nudgee’s three sharp shooters who combined for 72 points.
Preston Le Gassick finished on 19 points while Maika Shortland chalked up 18.
Despite leading Nudgee in both rebounds (59-52) and assists (21-11), the all important points category didn’t go their way.
