RAMONE Moore’s 11-year-old daughter Simone usually has to sit up past 1am watching a live stream of her dad playing for the Adelaide 36ers across the other side of the world.

But after making the day trip from her home in Philadelphia to Salt Lake City yesterday, she will get to see the real thing when Moore’s 36ers take on the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Moore’s other daughter, one-year-old Au’bri, has also made the trip from Philly with his mother Stephanie, aunt Charlene and older brother Dante who still remembers when Moore was a basketball-mad toddler and would throw a pair of socks into a washing basket all day in their living room.

“I was so excited when I heard he was playing in Salt Lake City because this is a place I’ve never been,” Simone said.

“I think he’s a great player. I watch his games online and sometimes have to stay up until 1am on weekends so I can see him play.”

Moore is one of Adelaide’s starters and most important players after he won the NBL’s sixth-man award last season.

He grew up dreaming of playing NBA basketball and finally gets to experience it at the age of 29 when Adelaide plays the Jazz on Saturday morning.

“It means a lot, first time playing on an NBA court is a dream come true for me and to have my family here is a special opportunity,” he said.

“Not only is it a great opportunity for us to play an NBA team but it gives me the opportunity to come back and see my family, that’s big for me, I’ve been raised on that, so it’s special to have them back and hopefully they enjoy the experience.

“I wanted (to be playing against the Philadelphia) 76ers because that would have been good but we here now and Simone loves to travel so it’s all good. It probably helps that she misses school as well.”
