NBL championship weapon Casey Prather will return to Melbourne United next season.

Ring collector Prather, the only player in NBL player history to win three domestic titles in as many seasons, returns to United after stints in Russia and Greece.

Prather signed with Russian EuroLeague outfit Khimki after playing a key role in United’s breakthrough 2017-18 championship.

He suited up for Greek professional team Promitheas most recently.

Prather, a two-time NBL championship winner at Perth Wildcats and Finals MVP, averaged 16.6 points, 6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game at United previously.

The former NBA forward rounds out United’s visa slots, along with scoring machine Melo Trimble and interior beast Shawn Long.

A two-year deal for Prather will be announced tonight by United.

His impending arrival largely offsets the loss of championship winners Casper Ware (Sydney Kings) and Josh Boone (Illawarra Hawks).
