Basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s one-hour talkfest in front of more than 2500 fans on Wednesday night was both captivating and wide-ranging.

It wasn’t just a stroll through his decorated career, the Mamba Mentality Experience covered numerous topics but once again anything about Kobe and MJ had the punters on the edge of their seats.

Kobe recalled the first time he played on Michael Jordan in Chicago and how he knew the move the Bulls superstar was going to pull on him.

“I’m guarding him and I’ve seen this (play) hundreds of times,” Kobe said. “He would fake this way, pirouette around and go baseline.

“I know it’s coming, I know it’s coming, I know it’s coming and I fell for it anyway because it looks so believable.

“So I’m running up the court thinking to myself, ‘Damn that’s what a real fake looks like’. I knew he was going to fake and he still faked me out.

“I’m thinking that in my head and he then runs up next to me and goes: “That sh.t is a lot faster in person isn’t it.”

The pair remain close and regularly text with Kobe reaching out to MJ to ask him about his 12-year-old daughter Gigi who is starting to excel at basketball.

He wanted to know what MJ was doing at the same age as he was trying to figure out how to handle the expectations with his girl.

“I asked Michael what he was doing at 12 and he texted back: `Playing baseball’.”

BOUCHARD’S HOLLYWOOD MOMENT

TENNIS star Genie Bouchard’s famous date with one of her Twitter followers is set to become a Hollywood movie.

Bouchard agreed to a date with John Goehrke after losing a Super Bowl bet in 2017 when the New England Patriots came back from 28-3 down to beat the Atlanta Falcons.

She had promised to go on a date if the Pats won and was true to her word. The pair have since gone on multiple dates.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the movie has been given the green light by Fox 2000 with Bouchard to serve as executive producer.

“The film version centers on dating and love in the modern digital age, asking if a relationship born on social media can survive the glare of the public eye,” the report stated.

Its also been reported that J.J Abrams, who produced smash hits Armageddon and the third Star Wars trilogy, has signed on to oversee the film.

Bouchard followed up the report by tweeting: “Welcome to Hollywood”.

Collingwood’s Adam Treloar is the new voice on AFL 360.

The Pies midfield star will join Jack Riewoldt and Jordan Lewis on Tuesday nights for the popular players’ segment.

Lewis and Treloar will rotate through the second seat alongside Riewoldt who is looking to increase his role with the network this season.

The Tigers spearhead will join the Fox Footy commentary team calling matches while Lewis will also feature more during match day broadcasts.

Fox Footy’s flagship show, AFL 360, returns next Monday.
