MELBOURNE United giant Majok Majok will tryout with Dallas Mavericks for the NBA Summer League.
Majok, 24, must get through a mini-camp in Dallas to play in the off-season competition which starts on July 1 in Florida.
“It’s great to have an NBA team have a closer look at you,” the 206cm, 111kg centre told the Herald Sun yesterday.
“It’s a big dream of mine to even get that close to the NBA.”
Majok caught the eye of Mavericks scouting director Tony Ronzone, who visited Melbourne during the NBL season.

The durable enforcer played all 28 games last year, averaging 18 minutes, six rebounds and five points a game, bringing high-energy and aggression to the United front court.
With 58 NBL seasons - over two seasons - under his belt, Majok is confident he has experience and game to push hard for the Mavs’ Summer League roster.
“I’ve been told to (be myself)… play hard, workout hard (and) do everything with great energy,” Majok said.
“It’s a really great opportunity for me.”
United star Chris Goulding flies to Los Angeles next week for an intensive training program with NBA skills trainer Jordan Lawley.
Lawley has previously worked with gun NBL imports Jerome Randle (Adelaide) and Josh Childress (Sydney).
“It will be good to go over and get some work in, add some things to my game and work on my fitness,” Goulding said.
The United and Australian Boomers sharpshooter has endured a limited off-season after successful ankle surgery.
He only recently started running again and has been cleared to slowly increase court workouts.
“I’ve had a really tough gym (weights) program that’s kept me on focus,” Goulding said.
“Now that I can run and start (to) get the heartrate up a whole lot more, the focus will shift to the basketball side of things, just getting my touch back and getting my legs back under me.”
Goulding wants to be game-ready in time for the Boomers’ inaugural FIBA Asia Cup campaign in August.
