Incredible college basketball buzzer beater stuns US

There’s winning pretty and winning ugly and this buzzer beater in US college basketball was definitely the latter but it was still spectacular.

Players from Missouri hit the floor to celebrate an epic win.

A midwest college basketball game isn’t where you usually look for an amazing sporting moment but this one between Missouri State and Illinois State really delivered.

With the seconds ticking down on the clock and Missouri down by two points all Illinois had to do was inbound the ball and keep it.

They failed. And what followed were chaotic scenes as players dived for the loose ball before Jarred Dixon ended up with it.

Dixon then let fly from half-court range and fell to the court as his arching shot hit flush on the backboard before finding the net to give the Bears a 66-65 win as their entire bench streamed onto the court in a rapturous celebration.

The Bears had trailed by five points with less than 10 seconds left, but Josh Webster kept the game alive with an and one.

“It’s surreal, that’s all I can say,” Dixon said post-match.

“The game seemed out of hand. Keandre Cook got a really big steal, and the ball was just going everywhere — it was a 50-50 ball, like Coach Ford says, it always comes down to it. Everyone was down on the floor, trying to get it, and I just happened to pick it up and let it go.”
