Australian superstar Liz Cambage has opened up about being “stuck in limbo for months” trying to complete her WNBA trade to Las Vegas Aces.
The protracted three-month negotiation finally ended on Friday, having taken both a physical and emotional toll on Cambage, a two-time All Star and 2018 league MVP runner-up.

Cambage will join the Aces next week.
She played 32 games for Dallas Wings last season, enough to lead the league in scoring and rank second in rebounds, despite a battling with an achilles problem.
But a falling out with the organisation, following its decision to sack head coach Fred Williams, led to Cambage asking for a trade.
“It hasn’t been an easy road,” Cambage said.
“When I got drafted I ended up getting drafted somewhere I didn't want to go, and I wasn't supported and that made me not want to play basketball, it made me not want to be in the WNBA.
“I went back to Dallas last season (because Williams was there), I wanted to work with Fred, he is someone who’s supported me and nurtured me, even away from the WNBA.
“Once he got fired that was pretty much an indication that I didn't want to be back there."
The Wings made it difficult for Cambage to complete the transaction in recent days, prompting the outspoken Australian to vent on social media, threatening to spill the beans.
A fresh start, in a new city, however, is expected to bring the best out of Cambage, who set the WNBA record for points in a game last year, with 53 against New York Liberty on July 17.
“I'm in the best shape and the best state I've ever been in so I'm really looking forward to getting back out on court in America,” Cambage said.
“It’s (Vegas) a bit of a dangerous place at the same time.
“Our one game there last season I actually went out after the game and ended up losing my phone, it got chewed up by Sin City.
“It's something I’m focused on not doing again, especially during the season, I will be on my best behaviour.”
