A streaker has become an online star after almost the perfect crime

HE got away with one of the best streaks in sport, but when the praise starting flooding in he couldn’t help but brag. That’s when the police took notice.

THIS is the moment a 19-year-old became an online sensation.

Unfortunately, for Cincinnati Reds fan Justin Buchanan it’s also the moment police starting looking for him.

Buchanan is alleged to have scoped out The Great American Ball Park in Ohio for the best streaking route, before being dared to jump the fence by friends during a match against the Chicago Cubs.

Police in Cincinnati claim Buchanan entered the field of a Cincinnati Reds baseball game during the eighth innings.

The young baseball player Tweeted he’d just been dared to streak across the field moments before he is alleged to have produced one of the best spectator field runs ever seen.

Buchanan filmed his entire run from his mobile phone and also had his friends film it from the stands.

During the run he is seen talking to a player in the outfield and claimed later that the player in question brushed him for a high-five.

The videos then show Buchanan getting a run-up and scaling the 3m high back wall of the field to dodge a security guard before scampering over a fence and out through the other side of the stadium.

Here’s how it happened.

That could have been it.

It was the perfect crime. He was actually in the clear.

But then his streak started making a lot of chatter on social media and the teenager simply couldn’t help but reveal himself as the athletic streaker that just graced the Cincinnati stadium.

Buchanan became an online sensation after his friends started tweeting his exploits and it snowballed from there.

Unfortunately, it was not difficult for police to track down the mysterious streaker who eluded stadium security.

Buchanan told the Cincinnati Enquirer he handed himself into police.

The Noblesville, Indiana, resident was arrested by police this morning and charged with criminal trespassing on a place of public amusement, a first-degree misdemeanour.

He could face 180 days in jail or a fine of up to $1,000 if found guilty.

The police arrest sheet for Buchanan’s misdemeanour shows they were able to identify Buchanan because of his Twitter posts and video evidence he gave them through his social media posts.

Before his arrest, Buchanan and his friends also set up a Gofundme online fundraising campaign to help cover the costs of his fines and possible legal fees.

“On July 22, 2015 The Cincinnati Reds played the Chicago Cubs at The Great American Ballpark. Justin Buchanan and his friends attended the game,” the Gofundme account claims.

“On the way to the game Justin lost a ‘what are the odds’ bet to hop the fence at the game and run across the field.

“Justin wasn’t going to chicken out to his friends so, when the 8th inning came around, he went for it. Justin ended up getting away from the cops and security guards and escaped.

“His friends now want to help him raise money for his 30 seconds of fame.

“Money raised with help with lawyer fees, court and possible bail. Any money raised over the amount needed to cover the legal fees WILL be donated to charity.”

The account has received $180 in donations and is still $7,200 short of its goal of $8,000.
