TOP Melbourne designer Jason Grech has blasted cheapskate Brownlow WAGs demanding freebie dresses for next Monday's medal count.
Grech said in the past two weeks he turned down 20 requests to borrow a free frock, as in previous years many were returned damaged.
"I remember one of them -- it wasn't even worth having it dry cleaned. We basically stuck it in the back never to be seen again," he said.
Brownlow-standard gowns from Grech cost about $6000 and take 30 hours to make.
Designer Helen Manuell said she would dress two women this year, waiving the cost in return for the publicity. Mariana Hardwick will dress seven women, while two WAGS have frocks from city evening wear specialist La Bella Donna.
