Video of Eagle Mark LeCras going viral as weary star shows off his premiership medal
LAST year it was a topless woman wearing a premiership medal. This year’s leaked celebration comes in the form of a video from Eagle Mark LeCras. Plus a Tiger’s whiskers gone and West Coast’s ‘no sunnies’ rule.

LAST year it was a topless woman wearing a premiership medal.
This year the leaked celebration doing the rounds comes in the form of a video message from West Coast Eagles veteran Mark LeCras.

A bleary-eyed LeCras, who is still wearing his jumper over his shirt in the video, addresses the camera.
“Let me set the scene. Grand Final. playing Collingwood, we’re down by five goals ...” he says.
LeCras then holds up his premiership medal which is around his neck and states: “I think you ----s know what happened.”
West Coast certainly partied hard after Saturday’s victory with footage of Norm Smith Medallist Luke Shuey doing a ‘shoey’ — drinking out of his shoe — going viral.
The video could be LeCras’ final act as an Eagle with speculation the 32-year-old is set to retire after 219 games.
The goalkicker took to social media on Tuesday night to apologise for the video.
“I am extremely embarrassed that a video post using unacceptable language that I sent to a private group has been circulated publicly,” LeCras wrote.
“I unreservedly apologise for the use of that language and any offence it has caused.
“I take full responsibility for this error.”
TIGER WHISKERS GONE
IT became known as the premiership beard but after Richmond’s stumble this year, Nick Vlaustin has decided it’s time it went.
Speaking at Tuesday’s TAB Spring Carnival launch, the Tigers defender revealed the origin behind his long red whiskers.
“It started last year when I got knocked out a couple of times,” Vlaustin explained.
“I had to get some stitches so I couldn’t shave it. Then when I did, five or six weeks later I got knocked out again so it was just easier to let it grow.
“Then the fans started to get involved and it took on a life of its own becoming the premiership beard.
“So I figured it had to come back the next year but that didn’t work out so I’m getting it shaved.”
Vlaustin was visiting his barber a couple of hours before the Tigers best and fairest count.
All-Australian ruckman Max Gawn was also at the launch and he revealed the reason why he won’t be following Vlaustin to the barber.
“I’ve got a really small chin that I’m self-conscious about so it’s staying,” Gawn said.
Gawn jets off to LA today to start his holidays while Vlaustin and 30 of his teammates are heading to Thailand.
EAGLES STAY GROUNDED
DENIS Pagan’s influence lives on.
A long held theory which the North Melbourne premiership coach has lived by was evident in the West Coast Eagles premiership celebrations.
Pagan is a mentor of Eagles coach Adam Simpson and he used one of his old coach’s rules when his team was presented to fans on Sunday in Perth.
No player was wearing sunglasses on stage.
“I think it was ’96 or ’99, I can’t remember, but he knew we were going to win (the flag) because he saw the other team had sunnies on in the grand final parade. They were getting ahead of themselves,” Simpson said.
“The players now understand their roles and how important they are, in that sense. What they project is real, it’s not just a public persona, it’s the way they operate. Little things like taking your sunnies off when you do an interview, our players drive and I’m sure we’re not alone with that.
“It’s the little things we do to try to make sure we stay humble.”
