The AFL trade period was billed as one of the biggest ever, and it didn’t disappoint.

In the 10 days since Karl Amon moved to Hawthorn as a free agent more than 30 deals were completed, including a flurry in the final minutes before Wednesday’s 7.30pm deadline.

The Cats got even stronger, Carlton was unusually quiet and Hawthorn has jettisoned more than 500 games of experience.

On the other side of the ledger, the Dogs, Dockers and Giants lost several playerrs to rival clubs.
