The Footy Show has got their girl.

After weeks of boardroom back-and-forth the two networks have finally agreed Meadows can “do an Eddie” by appearing on both stations.

SUPERCOACH: SPECIAL JLT SCOUTING REPORT
Several years ago Eddie McGuire pulled off the shared arrangement by hosting Nine’s popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and calling games on Fox Footy.
The strange bedfellows scenario extended to his memorable return as The Footy Show saviour.
Ironically, McGuire’s production company, Jam TV, is the team behind the reworking of The Footy Show.
Meadows, 33, has been a rising star at Fox and was the face of the network’s cricket coverage.
She is a co-host on Fox Footy’s ‘On The Mark’, also featuring on game day coverage and the AFL Tonight news program.
The delay in getting Meadows, who has been holidaying overseas, across the line has caused a lot of angst for the new Footy Show team given it’s scheduled to debut on Wednesday and the hosts have yet to even be in the same room.
Comedian Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann is spearheading the new line-up which includes former Carlton star Brendan Fevola, Brownlow Medallist Shane Crawford and wheelchair tennis champion Dylan Alcott.
The new Footy Show is going down the “footytainment” route to try and challenge Channel 7’s The Front Bar which has dominated it in the ratings over the past two years.
DICKSON’S NEXT DOCO PROJECT
The Dickson family may have been missing from Thursday night’s AFL season launch for the first time in 15 years but the guru film documentary maker isn’t lost to footy fans.
Peter Dickson and his late brother Rob have been responsible for producing the AFL Grand Final documentary until this year.
But Peter won’t be lost to football as he’s created a short film concept called ‘1 minute tragic’ which involves diehard footy fans explaining the love they have for their respective clubs.
The AFL will be releasing two of the short films each week across their various platforms.
Meanwhile, Dickson’s acclaimed cricket documentary ‘2 nations, 1 obsession’, which explored the rivalry between Australia and India, has been selected as a finalist at an international film festival in Nice, France.
