The football media landscape faces a challenging time in the coming weeks as it comes to grip with the AFL shutdown.

There will be major disruption to a number of shows but Fox Footy has gone on the front foot and is introducing a new program.

A podcast-style show starting at 3pm will include a revolving panel of three experts who will debate the latest football news and also wander into the lifestyle area.

All of the big guns will be involved including Sarah Jones, Brad Johnson, Dermott Brereton, Jonathan Brown, Anthony Hudson, Jason Dunstall, Nick Dal Santo, Nick Riewoldt and David King.

The show will run until 6pm every day and lead into AFL Tonight and then resume again from 6.30pm-7.30pm before AFL 360 kicks into gear.

Footy starved fans will be able to get their fix with games from the past set to be aired on Thursday and Friday nights.

The games will involve the teams who were scheduled to appear according to the 2020 draw but what year the replay is from will remain a secret.

So on Thursday night there will be a Richmond-Collingwood clash but from which season won't be revealed until the start of the show.

Decisions about other traditional football shows including Fox's On The Couch, Channel 9's Footy Classified and Channel 7's Talking Footy will be made in the coming days.

Whether On the Couch goes ahead on Fox Footy is yet to be determined.

WARNE GOES THE EARLY CROW

The old early crow came back to haunt Shane Warne on Sunday.

St Kilda's No.1 fan was clearly impressed with what he saw in the first half from his team so he decided to stir the pot with one of his former teammates.

Warne reached out to North Melbourne fan Ricky Ponting on Twitter, posting:

"Loving the @stkildafc style of play so far in the @AFL ! Great start and look a level above North Melbourne !!!!! Agree @RickyPonting hahah 😂😂😂

This tweet was sent out at 1.56pm. At halftime the Saints were 29-points up and looking over the line.

But Warney's worst nightmare came to life with his side failing to kick a goal in the third quarter as the Roos surged.

At 3.11pm he was forced to hit Twitter again: "Can I take that back about the Saints ? And can the 1st half saints please come back and play !!!!!!!!"

While Ponting didn't bite back, there were plenty of Kangaroos fans who were willing to pot Warne for his early crow.

AGE OLD EXCUSE FOR NBA STAR

NBA star Jamal Murray has been forced to use the old "my phone was hacked" excuse after a graphic video surfaced on his Instagram account.

The video which left his 450,000 followers in shock captured Murray being friendly with a woman.

Murray was forced to bring the matter to a head quickly, posting this response: "First and foremost I would like to apologise to my fans. My account has been hacked, currently working on the issue. Thanks."

He has certainly shown an ability to keep busy during the coronavirus shutdown of the league.

Earlier this week the Denver Nuggets point guard went viral again on social media when he posted a clip of himself playing the piano.

THE WHISPER

The AFLW players aren't having a great run. Last week there was a massive communication problem with what the finals set-up was and now we hear some of them only found out their season was over via Twitter.
