The two midfielders have enjoyed stellar seasons but were overlooked in favour of players including Giant Tom Scully, Magpie Adam Treloar and Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli.
Adelaide is by far the best represented team, with eight names included in the squad, which will be trimmed to 22 on Wednesday.
