SYDNEY may be beaten up and coming off a six-day break and Geelong rested and raring to go but Swans co-captain Kieren Jack says it won’t matter a bit when the ball is bounced at the MCG on Friday night.
“We’re in a preliminary final,” Jack said before training at the SCG.
“There’s a general sense of anticipation for it. You have to realise that these opportunities don’t come around very often.
“That’s the messaging we’re getting across to the young boys. You have to enjoy it, we don’t care what position we’re in medically, or our form or what the betting is saying. We’ve got a chance to play in a Grand Final.”
The Swans easily accounted for Geelong by 38 points at Simonds Stadium in Round 16 coming off a six-day break and Jack said the preparation for Friday night’s match will be similar.
“We won’t be doing anything different,” he said.
“We think we’ve got that process down pat, we’ll train solidly today and go in with some confidence we’ve done it during the year on six-day breaks so we just need to make sure our mindset and attitude is spot on.”
Kurt Tippett trained fully and Gary Rohan jogged laps without apparent discomfort.
Rohan was cleared of structural damage after he fell awkwardly in Sydney’s 36-point semi-final win over Adelaide at the SCG on Saturday night.
