JESSE Hogan wants to be part of the Demons’ premiership surge in coming years and is increasingly happy in Melbourne, according to his management.
Hogan has consistently had to ward off speculation that he will one day return to West Australia to finish his career.
The 23-year-old was enjoying a career-best season with 47 goals until he broke his foot in Round 21, knocking him out of finals contention.

It kickstarted another round of discussion that the Demons should trade a player that has another year on his contract.
But his Perth-based manager Jason Dover says Hogan had given absolutely no indication he wanted to leave the club.
Hogan is well-settled in Melbourne and if he moved to Fremantle would be at a club early on in a long rebuild.
At Melbourne he can expect to be in the premiership window for the next five seasons given the star-studded team kicking the ball to he and Tom McDonald.
After such an unsettled 2017, involving testicular cancer and the loss of his father, both club and player have been happy for him to play out the year without discussion on a contract extension.
When he signed his last deal in 2016 he admitted at one stage that year he was “50-50” about going home but it became clear to him by year’s end he wanted to stay.
Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin made it clear on Fox Footy on Monday that Hogan was going nowhere.
“I’ve found that interesting discussion, he’s missed one game and all of a sudden he’s tradeable,” Goodwin said.
“This is a guy who was potentially heading towards All-Australian (selection) before he got injured. He’s a Melbourne person through and through, Jesse, and we love having him in our team.”
The Dockers need to quickly find a new list manager with CEO Steve Rosich heading up that department after the departure of Brad Lloyd to Carlton.
Young top-10 pick Adam Cerra seems in no hurry to sign a contract extension but is certain to play for the Dockers next year.
West Coast are sweating on a decision on ruck free agent Scott Lycett, with St Kilda’s offer for him believed to be more significant than the Port Adelaide contract offer.
St Kilda would be prepared to pay as much as $700,000 a season for a four or five-year deal but ideally he would find his way home to South Australia, with his family having Port Adelaide connections.
Unless Port Adelaide can come up with a lucrative deal close to the Saints offer West Coast would likely match their deal and keep a player they desperately need with the injury to Nic Naitanui.
