Essendon ruckman Sam Draper has been recalled to tackle St Kilda’s two-pronged ruck attack alone, with the Bombers choosing to manage Tom Bellchambers once again.
Draper returns for just his third AFL game after being managed last week.
It is the second time in four games Bellchambers has been managed.
The Saints have recalled Paddy Ryder, who will share ruck duties with Rowan Marshall.
Zak Jones (managed) and Seb Ross (calf) also return to bolster the St Kilda midfield.

Key defender Michael Hurley will be a welcome return for Bombers after being managed last week, but fellow defenders Aaron Francis and Mason Redman and forward Devon Smith (all managed) have all gone out of the side.
HAWTHORN has brought in Changkuoth Jiath and Conor Glass for their first games of the year against West Coast, alongside Shaun Burgoyne who returns from a hamstring injury. But the Hawks have lost Isaac Smith (shoulder), Jon Ceglar (toe) and Tom Scully (managed).
West Coast defender Jeremy McGovern is set to play his first game since Round 7.
MIDFIELDER Lachie Hunter returns as one of four changes for the Western Bulldogs’ clash with Adelaide.
Jason Johannisen (ankle), Zaine Cordy (chest) and Josh Bruce (managed) will all miss.

WILL HAWKS MAKE SELECTION STATEMENT?
Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson has maintained he won’t make “wholesale” changes despite a shift to playing more youth, and insists it will be a process that won’t take long to bear fruit.
President Jeff Kennett and chief executive Justin Reeves both this week that development of young players was paramount in the remaining rounds of the season, which Clarkson said would largely come about due to the compressed nature of the fixture that lays ahead.
But he is adamant that he will not be swayed by external commentary.
“By and large, players deserve their opportunity whether they’re young or old based on good form or in terms of their training,” Clarkson said.
“We won’t shy away from that, but we’re also very mindful that we need to have an eye on the now and an eye on the future.
“All the words out of our footy club over the last four to six week shave been around that, so we’ll continue to do that. Especially with this five-game block or seven game block, we’re going to need to use a lot of our players, as we’ve seen with the Western Bulldogs who have gone through this compressed block … they’ve used nearly 40 players.
“We’re going to go through that phase ourselves pretty soon. We’ll hopefully see through the natural evolution of how this is going to be rolled out in the compressed part of our season, we’ll probably see a lot more of that over the next few weeks.”
Clarkson cited the 2004 and 2005 seasons and also the aftermath of the 2008 premiership of how quickly a list profile can change, and then produce results.
“In 2004 and 2005, our club was in a different phase and we were paying too high in our salary cap in terms of where we were finishing on the ladder,” he recalled.
“We needed to correct a lot of things in our list profile … so we had to go with a lot of youth in that point in time, and heavily educate our members and the football public of where we were at as a club. But we haven’t been in that phase for the last 13 to 14 years.
“It’s a phase that every club tries to avoid, to be fair, because it’s a long and hard process. It’s very difficult with the draft, the way it sits at the present time. There’s so many implications and compromises with the current draft system that it’s very hard to rebuild with draft picks from the bottom.”
COTCH BACK BUT NO NANK FOR TIGERS
- Simeon Thomas-Wilson
Toby Nankervis will miss Richmond’s Monday night clash against Gold Coast, despite joining with the Tigers’ main group in training sessions this week.
The dual-premiership ruckman hasn’t featured for the Tigers since Round 5 after going down with a syndesmosis injury.
Nankervis was training with the main Tigers group on Saturday but Richmond’s injury update has him as unavailable for the Suns clash and out for the “short term”.
Reigning club best-and-fairest Dion Prestia is also on the recovery trail from a syndesmosis, but is listed as medium term for the Tigers.
Key defender David Astbury is also out for the medium term after he required more surgery on a knee injury.
Tigers captain Trent Cotchin is set to return after being rested for the loss to Port Adelaide last round, while Bachar Houli has put his hand up after entering the Richmond hub on the Gold Coast after serving two-weeks of quarantine after remaining in Melbourne when the club relocated to Queensland.
Shane Edwards is still back in Melbourne.
ROOS VICE-CAPTAIN A LATE WITHDRAWAL
- Lauren Wood
North Melbourne will be without vice-captain Robbie Tarrant for today’s clash with Brisbane.
While the key defender had hoped to recover from a corked calf - sustained in the team’s loss to Melbourne at Adelaide Oval - in time to play, he will be replaced by Tristan Xerri in a late shift.
“We were hopeful that he’d get up, but he just didn’t quite get up,” coach Rhyce Shaw said on Fox Footy.
“We gave him until this morning, and he’s just too stiff. So we’ve gone with big X, and he’ll come in as a replacement for Robbie today.”
The Kangaroos made eight changes to its team for today’s match at the Gabba having won just one of its last nine games, but Shaw said the team’s motivation was “pretty good”.
“We’ve got a really young side and young squad at the moment and the guys just love playing footy.
“Any opportunity we get to get out on the game and play ... there’s motivation enough.
“We haven’t played great football over the last extended period, but the motivation’s still there for our guys. We’ve got 10 guys under 22 years of age today, and 10 that haven’t played 25 games. These guys are really excited - they’re bringing a lot of energy to our team, and I’m really enthusiastic about what they can produce today.”
Earlier, the Roos made a big statement at selection, dropping Jared Polec for the second time this year.
The high-priced recruit is among six outs for the Roos with Jasper Pittard, Aaron Hall and Majak Daw also dumped from the team that lost to Melbourne.
In other teams news, Carlton has named another debutant in Josh Honey but lost Jack Martin and Marc Pittonet to injury.
PIES BOLSTERED BY TOP-LINE STARS
Collingwood will be boosted by the return of five top-line stars for its clash against Melbourne.
But the Pies have axed three players including young gun Jaidyn Stephenson, who kicked two goals in the Pies’ win against Adelaide. Stephenson has struggled to have an impact across games this year, with his average of 10 disposals and 1.1 goals a game both the lowest in his three-year career.
Chris Mayne and Tim Broomhead have also been dropped while Brayden Sier and Jordan Roughead will miss with injury.
The five ins are Darcy Moore, Ben Reid, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Jamie .Elliott and skipper Scott Pendlebury.
Melbourne will be without injured ruckman Max Gawn for the second game in a row and has lost young back-up Luke Jackson to a hamstring injury. Mitch Hannan and Trent Rivers were omitted.
Brayden Preuss will carry the ruck against Brodie Grundy while Jack Viney returns from concussion.
Pendlebury has missed four games with a quad strain of his own but Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said he was firing.
“He’s right to go and looking forward to playing,” Buckley said on Friday.
“We have our light run this afternoon, and we’ll clarify our final team at that point. But he’s done everything in his power and he’s up and physically ready to go.”
Buckley also confirmed that Darcy Moore, Ben Reid, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Jamie Elliott would all be available for selection to take on the Demons, with Elliott missing the team’s win over Adelaide after “a slap across the chops” raised some further complications.
“There was some questions ... about whether he was going to be able to fly due to a knock to the ear,” Buckley said.
“So that made what was going to be a likely decision a foregone conclusion, but he’s right to go.
“There’s a few there that are fresh legs that we believe are ready to go and will help us buffer this compression period ... and present ourselves as best as we possibly can tomorrow against Melbourne.”
Sier “felt something down just above his knee” against Adelaide, Buckley said, with scans revealing “quite a significant injury”.
“But he was able to push through that and contribute to a win at that moment,” Buckley said.
“The injury itself is quite (serious) ... the muscle itself has come away from the tendon a little bit in the lower part of the quadriceps, and I think that’s going to take a little bit of time to heal.
“I think it’s four to six weeks at this point, but it was an amazing effort from a young fella to stand up when he was required.”
Buckley also shed light on the severity of Adam Treloar’s hamstring injury, with the star midfielder racing the clock to play again before finals.
“Ads has got some tendon involvement in that injury, which is going to push it out a couple more weeks,” Buckley said.
“But a couple more weeks could be five games or it could be none. We don’t really know what the season is going to look like beyond Round 13.
“If we make the finals then we’re going to be doing everything we possibly can, and that sounds like it’s going to be late September or early October, but it could be November or it could be December.”
TIGERS STAR SETS RETURN DATE
Bachar Houli says he felt “like a young kid going back to school” as he rejoined his Richmond teammates at training for the first time in weeks.
Houli was part of a second group of players, their partners and families — including staff members’ — and club officials who finished their 14-day required quarantine period on Thursday.
The two-time premiership defender has been absent from the Tigers since Round 5 when he chose to stay in Victoria for the birth of his third child.
With his young family also in Queensland, Houli took part in his first training session outside of quarantine on Thursday - having kept himself fit with some Richmond younger players flown with him to the Gold Coast in the AFL established isolation hub at the Mercure.
“Being with the boys in the first training feels like a kid going back to school for his first day,” he said.
“It’s great being back with the boys and on this incredible journey we are all on.”
Houli has said he was targeting Richmond’s Monday night game against Gold Coast as his return.
Toby Nankervis stepped up his recovery from a syndesmosis injury, training in one of the Tigers’ small groups on Thursday. Ivan Soldo was running by himself.
Some Tigers players and staff members who have brought their families over are now staying at the Royal Pines - where Essendon and the Western Bulldogs are staying.
The Bulldogs had a group of 30-40 come out of quarantine including chief executive Ameet Bains.
Geelong players such as Patrick Dangerfield and Cam Guthrie were reunited with their partners and kids at the Cats’ Southport hub.
Dangerfield’s wife Mardi and kids George and Felicity were onlookers as the Cats prepared for a huge Friday night clash against Port Adelaide.
St Kilda had a travelling party of 33 leave the Gold Coast to go to the Saints hub in Noosa.
On Monday night Saints coach Brett Ratten said they were investigating how to get injured midfielder Dan Hannebery and assistant coach Jarryd Roughead and his family from Melbourne to Queensland.
