SEB Ross capped a season in which he emerged as one of the AFL’s most consistent midfielders by winning his first Trevor Barker Award.

Ross, 24, this year earned selection in the 40-man All-Australian squad, collected 14 Brownlow Medal votes to lead St Kilda and placed ninth in the AFL Coaches’ Association Player of the Year Award.

He finished with 159 votes to clinch the Saints’ best-and-fairest ahead of Dylan Roberton (124) and skipper Jarryn Geary (121).

Key defender Jake Carlisle (119) was close behind in fourth, while young gun Jack Billings (110) rounded out the top five.
