Ellis’s omission ends his run of 111 consecutive games since Round 12, 2013 — the longest streak at Richmond and No.2 at the AFL behind Cat Zach Tuohy. Dustin Martin (77 games) now holds Richmond’s longest current streak. SEE ALL THE ROUND 6 INS AND OUTS IN OUR BLOG BELOW The other two teams involved in Anzac clashes have both made mass changes. Essendon has rested Tom Bellchangers and David Myers, lost Josh Begley to a knee injury, Josh Green to a hamstring injury and dropped Michael Hartley. The inclusions are Patrick Ambrose, Jayden Laverde, Ben McNiece, Matthew Leuenberger and debutant Kobe Mutch. The Demons, meanwhile, regain Jordan Lewis, Tom McDonald, Bayley Fritsch and Mitch Hannan and have named first-gamer Charlie Spargo. Out of the side that lost to Richmond on Tuesday night are Christian Petracca (hand), Dean Kent (hamstring) and omitted trio Josh Wagner, Jeff Garlett and Billy Stretch. Petracca will miss Sunday’s clash against Essendon because of a badly infected dog bite wound. Petracca had surgery on his finger on Thursday and will spend the weekend in hospital to help stamp out the infection. Petracca, 22, was bitten by one of his dogs last week and had the injured finger bandaged and strapped for Tuesday night’s loss to Richmond. But fitness chief Dave Misson said the wound deteriorated after the match. “It was a reasonable size wound on his finger,” Misson said. “But 24 hours post the game, it looked like it was becoming infected, so he went to see a doctor and the doctor felt that he needed the wound to be cleaned out. “But that infection had gone into his bone and gone down to his finger joint — at the top of the finger. “The important thing is that the wound needs to stay open for three days to guarantee that that infection is gone before they stitch it up. “Those three days coincide with the game, and the doctor actually wants him to stay in hospital over the weekend, just to make sure that the infection is gone.” In better news for the Demons, key forward Tom McDonald was named to make his return from a troublesome toe injury, along with veteran Jordan Lewis (hand). The pair were named on an extended bench for the Bombers’ clash along with first-year small forward Charlie Spargo. Meanwhile, Geelong will welcome back spearhead Tom Hawkins and livewire Cory Gregson for Saturday’s clash against the Sydney Swans. The Swans have turned to youngsters Robbie Fox, Daniel Robinson and debutant Ben Ronke to replace injured stars Lance Franklin and Daniel Hannebery and utility Dean Towers. Gun veteran Shaun Burgoyne headlines three inclusions for the Hawks, who have lost important duo Liam Shiels (back) and James Sicily (suspension) for tomorrow night’s clash against the Saints. Richmond could be bolstered by the return of premiership stars Josh Caddy, Nick Vlastuin and Jack Graham for Sunday’s showdown against Collingwood at the MCG. The Magpies have named potential debutants Brayden Sier and Flynn Appleby in an extended squad to replace rested speedster Travis Varcoe. No. 4 draft pick Luke Davies-Uniacke replaces concussed best and fairest winner Shaun Higgins at North Melbourne.
