But if you missed any of the must-have rookies or mid-price stars such as Tom Rockliff or Dom Sheed, it’s a case of now or never before their prices soar.

There’s question marks hanging over the form of popular premiums Isaac Heeney, Devon Smith and Dustin Martin, but nailing your rookie picks should be your priority before this weekend.

Willem Drew (-121), Matt Parker (-108), Charlie Constable (-97) and Xavier Duursma (-69) were popular starting picks, but if you missed out on any of them now is the time to jump on.

Port Adelaide ruckman Scott Lycett continued the trend of mid-priced players dominating the early rounds when he topscored in Round 2 with a monster 167 against Carlton.

The West Coast premiership big man had 25 possessions and 34 hit outs as the Power held off a determined Blues outfit.

Ben Cunnington (159) was the next best in Round 2, while Patrick Dangerfield (154) hit top gear and continued his trend of huge scores against Melbourne.

Clayton Oliver returned to form with 141, emphasising the importance of holding proven players even if they falter early in the campaign.

CHAMPION DATA MARKET WATCH

Adam Treloar

Treloar was the top-ranked (135 SuperCoach points) player on the ground in the mauling of Richmond — racking up a game-high 39 disposals — posting an impressive disposal efficiency of 82%. On the spread he was excellent, winning 32 disposals post-clearance. Treloar also had 12 contested possessions, six inside 50s and chipped in with one goal from 73% game time.

Isaac Heeney

Heeney struggled to have an impact against the Crows, managing just 67 SuperCoach points from 75% game time. He attended just five centre bounces, finishing with 13 effective disposals, nine contested possessions, two clearances, four inside-50s and one score assist. Heeney is poised for a major price drop after his third match.

Dustin Martin

After making a strong start to the match with eight disposals in the opening term, Levi Greenwood completely nullified Martin — keeping him to career-low numbers for Round 2 in both disposals (19) and SuperCoach points (66). He was the equal 35th ranked played on the ground after quarter-time, finishing with one clearance, one goal and zero tackles from 81% game time.
