NBA star Joe Ingles has apologised to Melbourne midfielder Bernie Vince for sledging his performance against Hawthorn saying he got caught up “in the heat of the moment”.
During the Demon’s defeat to Hawks at the MCG yesterday, the Australian Boomers — and Utah Jazz — forward tweeted to his 66,300 followers that “Bernie Vince is garbage”.
The tweet coincided with Vince being reported late in the game after becoming involved in a scuffle with Hawks wingman Isaac Smith.
Apologies @bvince23 - I'm just a passionate Hawker who was fired up over your tangle with Smith. Heat of the moment. All good ðð»

In response to the sledge, Vince channelled his inner Nick Kyrgios and took to his own account and returned fire not long after 9pm: “Joe who?” the Demon tweeted.
Ingles has since apologised to Vince, tweeting; Apologies @bvince23 — I’m just passionate Hawker who was fired up over your tangle wit Smith. Heat of the moment. All good.”
@Joeingles7 Joe who?

Ingles perhaps reined things in when he realised the banter exchange between himself and Vince had caught the eye of Adelaide captain Taylor Walker who issued Ingles a please explain of his own.
Walker — no stranger to heated exchanges on social media — sensationally sparked a Twitter war with Aussie ace Nick Kyrgios last year calling the Canberran a “Galoot” and “dead set flog”.
Kyrgios bit back with: “I don’t even know who Tex walker is lol”.
@Joeingles7 come on jooooseph he is my boy. What makes you say that?
