Hawthorn footballer Jonathon Patton has been stood down while he is being investigated over the alleged sharing of lewd images.

The Hawks player has been suspended from all commitments with the AFL club until a probe into his alleged behaviour is completed.

Patton was a notable absentee from Hawks training on Monday.

The club confirmed he has been stood down on Monday night.

Hawthorn Football Club has stood down Jonathon Patton from all club commitments until the completion of its investigation into allegations of Patton’s inappropriate behaviour on social media,’’ it said in a statement.

“The club’s Integrity Committee met this afternoon and will continue to ascertain all relevant information.

“The club will provide a further update at the completion of the investigation and asks that the privacy of all parties involved be respected at this time.’’

Patton was a no-show at training on Monday morning after at least four women accused him of sending them lewd messages, images and videos.

One Melbourne woman told the Herald Sun on Sunday that she started speaking to Patton in February last year after matching on a dating app and exchanged numbers a short time later.

She said soon after, Patton asked to call her for “a chat”.

“It ended up being a Facetime and when I answered he was w--king on camera,” the woman said.

“I was walking down Collins Street at the time, I was completely shocked.

“It’s not like we were speaking for long and he knew I was into it.”

She said they continued to message over the following weeks, but she refused to answer Facetime calls, and eventually blocked him.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it,” she said.

Another woman said Patton asked her to watch him masturbate on Facetime and suggested they have a “lock in” together with “sex, alcohol and coke” in March 2020 as the AFL scrambled to tackle the fallout from the coronavirus.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said Patton began messaging her on social media in January last year and was immediately “very forward”.

She said the footballer spoke up about sex and “f--king” within days of first making contact on Instagram private messages.

He continued to text her over the next two months and she claimed he became “aggressive” when she didn’t respond.

“He said I was immature and asked if I had died from coronavirus when I didn’t reply,” she said.

She said within days of meeting Patton for dinner the Hawthorn star asked her to “watch me c--- all over myself” on Facetime.

She said she accepted the call but felt uncomfortable about it.

“I felt quite sick ... it’s not normal behaviour,” she said.

The woman said she contacted the Hawthorn Football Club via social media early on Sunday morning about her allegations but had not received a response.

The Herald Sun believes Patton contacted several women in early 2020 who — unknown to him — all knew each other.

They shared their experiences in group chat messages seen by the Herald Sun.

It comes after the Sunday Herald Sun yesterday revealed the star player was under investigation by the club for sending the crude images to a woman.

The Herald Sun is not suggesting the allegations are true, only that they have been made.

Patton vehemently denies sending unsolicited images and videos of himself.
