HAWTHORN has dominated the AFL for much of the past decade.

So it’s fair to say rival fans thoroughly enjoyed seeing Port Adelaide pour on 9.8 (62) to 0.3 (3) in the first half at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.

In fact, the Hawks 0.3 (3) was the club’s lowest half-time score in HISTORY.

The Power kept the visitors scoreless in the first term, the first time they have achieved such a feat — against any club — in their history.

Hawthorn’s disastrous first half lit up social media, with many revelling in the chaos.

Even triple premiership Hawk Brian Lake joined in.

Lake was part of Hawthorn’s three-peat but his former club was a shadow of that one all-conquering team against the Power.

Lake took to Twitter to have a crack at his former club, likening their performance to that of a VFL team.

“Power v Box Hill”, Lake tweeted, referring to Hawthorn’s affiliate in the second-tier competition.

Alastair Clarkson’s men got some good news in the second half with two early goals taking them pass the club’s all-time low score of 1.7 (13).
